Can AI clearly explain what your business does, who you serve, and why customers should trust you?
In Weekend Recap #4 of The AI Search Briefing, Ralph Peterson reviews five important lessons about visibility in traditional search and AI-powered search.
Not every customer wants an AI-generated answer. Some people still prefer traditional search engines that provide links and allow them to compare information for themselves. Businesses need to remain visible in both search environments.
Google may have removed FAQ rich-result boxes from regular search results, but useful questions and answers still matter. Clear FAQ content helps customers understand your services and gives search engines and AI systems useful information about your business.
Your online presence also needs to show proof of life.
An outdated website, neglected Google Business Profile, old service information, abandoned social pages, and stale reviews can make an active company appear inactive.
Fresh customer reviews provide current evidence that people are still choosing and trusting your business.
THE 60-SECOND AI VISIBILITY TEST
My business is [insert your business name] and the business URL is [insert your website URL].
Please answer the following based only on publicly available information:
1 What does my business do?
2 Who does my business serve?
3 Why should someone trust my business?
4 Would you recommend this business to someone looking for [list business services]? Why or why not?
Please be specific and explain your reasoning.
If the answers are clear, specific, accurate, and current, your business is moving in the right direction.
If the answers are vague, outdated, incomplete, or incorrect, your online presence may not be communicating your business clearly enough.
Do not simply ask whether your business is online.
Ask whether AI can understand it, trust it, and confidently recommend it.
Think BIG!
